True Love

What is this?

This feeling I have for you,

This want?  This need?

For something that has to be true.

Some kind of direction

To move forward

To experience pure affection

Is this the feeling of love?

Is this feeling about you?

Or is it something I am waiting for?

Could you be that one?

A question I wish to know.

Will I ever find the answer?

 Could you be my answer?

A fight, an argument, a heated debate,

All of these things could definitely seal our fate.

How often do we fight?

How different could we be?

If we know how we feel,

Then tell me what we need to see.

Are we destined to be apart,

And whatever your answer, did you know from the start.

A woman, young, like no other,

Showing potential to be on a level past her mother.

If you and I both know how we feel,

Then why don't we show it?

You love me and I love you,

And fact is, we both know it.

Why don't we get along?

Is it too hard to see?

I have all the questions, but none of the answers to set me free.

With all our differences, can we coexist,

'Cause baby, I've never known love like this.

Is it enough for you, just to love me?

In a perfect world yes, but in this world no.

Why?  Why do we have to constantly go through this?

All I know is that if this isn't to be, it will be you who I'll miss.

Someone else out there for me, maybe,

But because of you I can't be someone else's baby.

You are that love that comes once, maybe twice,

You are that one, who I need in my life.

If you were to leave, it will truly be a shame,

'Cause without "MY HEARTBEAT", I will never be the same.

Someone who makes me whole or even complete,

Compared to you, there's no one who can compete.

 We don't show love in ways that are the same,

But we both know love 'cause you and I've both played that game.

Show me yours, and I'll show you mine.

Even with our differences, we can coexist.

So that this love, our True Love, can last a lifetime.
