In my mind, I think of the past

From broken hearts, to relationships that don’t last

And just when you think it could never happen

You seem to find someone, something new

Because as we get older, we long to better ourselves

We stop the games and search for something true.

When we found each other

For some reason I already knew

I knew that you were truly something special

That you were truly right for me, and how much I cared for you

People ask me: How would you know? Or how did this start?

I tell them, I discovered when we had to be apart.

And like they say, absence surely makes the heart grow fonder

But fact of the matter is…There was aching in my heart.

When I’m out of town or when I’m just away

I think of you constantly, each and every day.

It’s hard to be gone or even separated from you.

Cause when you look into my eyes, you’ll see how much I love you

I may not have much, and I may not be able to give you black pearls

But if it is true when they say love is a gift,

Then I could you everything, maybe even the world

In my eyes, there are very few who could even contest

How good you are for me, and that you are different from all the rest.

They don’t know what I know and they don’t see what I see

And at first, I couldn’t even imagine, that you could be the one for me.

That’s why I tell you the reason

Because I want to show you, and I want you to be able to see

That the things that I say aren’t so hard to believe

I want to wake up to you, be with you, and come home to you
